A scam and will steal your money

I resigned from my job but was not told the terms change and I had 90 days to withdraw my money. I called the day I resigned but was given the run around up until the 90 days had passed then was told it was too late. I have been calling since September 2018 providing proof but they will find another reason to keep your money.

Just to be clear this issue has occurred 3 times in the year and 1/2 I have dealt with Mercer Same thing happened to me in January of this year except it was with the prescription side of my health insurance. I need quite expensive anti rejection drugs due to an organ transplant,and again all that was needed was a verbal ok to the prescription co., and again I was told that that couldn't be done. I explained how important these drugs were and was told "m,aybe you can borrow the money" I spoke to a supervisor this morning,3/12/2019 and was told the same line of *** "we have given this our highest priority to figure out what is happening but we cannot make outbound calls and until we figure out why the file isn't updating properly there is nothing we can do Isn't the definition of stupidity doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results?

Feb 6 2019 I paid Discovery Benefits/Mercer Market Place a COBRA payment of $15.54 and My former company paid them the subsidy payment they were required to pay. I assumed this would result in a health insurance policy for my wife. By all accounts and phone calls to Mercer it should have. Mercer, once they receive all monies, sends an electronic file to the proper company and you have insurance. In my case, and this is not the first time, the file did not go over properly. I did not realize this until the end of February. Every time I call them to try to have this corrected they tell me they are sending a super important emergency update to correct this. We have tried this 3 separate times and it hasn't worked. When I asked them if it was possible for one human to talk to another to correct, this since obviously the computers were not communicating, I was told they don't do that I would have to wait for the computers to get it right. I my opinion they are perpetuating a fraud as I paid for a service that I am not receiving and haven't received for 39 days now I would not advise any Company or consumer to use this Company as they are quite cold and uncaring and when you are talking health insurance you need someone who cares

FSA Repayment due to Lost Reciepts

I used my FSA card to pay for my sons braces the day he had them put on, and for surgery the day he had surgery. I sent all requested paperwork so I could have access to my FSA.

We have had a acouple of different FSA companies and this one is by far the worst. Today we got hit with a $1700 bill for repayment of my son’s braces and surgery, which allegedly aren’t eligible to be covered. Then I was told they never received the proper documents and that since it’s from last year, there is nothing that we can do about it. I was also told that all the information is in my message center, which has not a single correspondence.

Every receipt I sent over is gone and every message back and forth is gone. Their word against mine.

$3400 it has now cost for my sons braces

and surgery. The only response they have for me is that they are regulated by the IRS and found these claims to be unjustified.

Just a terrible company to do business with doesn't care about their customers at all.

So many incidents. Could not get coverage after it was COBRA'd. Once it was established it was mysteriously cancelled three times. Finally was exasperated enough to cancel COBRA and go with ACA which was much less expensive. I kept the vision and then was informed I missed a payment and my coverage for vision was terminated. No notice of payment due nothing. They don't want to provide coverage they want to get you off their books as fast as possible. It's like dealing with the DMV , they just want you to go away. Customer service is terrible. I would never recommend this company to anyone and if another employer is using them I would not hesitate to suggest they drop them as a COBRA administrator and go with someone else. I also understand they were just bought out so I hope the same thing happens to the bought out employee's that happened to me and my coworkers. That would be justice.

I called my dentist office and got the statement for the whole year. Also got all the documentation and they said it was fixed and to check back which i did and it was corrected.

Please take anything of this complaint off this site. Didn't know I was complaining to a pissed off site just a complaint to the company itself.

my dentist requires a part of a payment when visiting there office so when i got explanation of benefits the amount paid was different then orginally paid and the fsa does not show amount of bill to amounts paid. having issues of over $2800.00 of dentist bills. and amount paid into fsa was 2500.00

Making work for their customers.

They require receipts that they already have a digital record of. They denied payment several times for nine different bills for PT, prescriptions and medical services from 1/10/ 2019 to 3/30 2019. While we can upload the receipts and I understand the need for accountability the print out from them details all of the information I see on the receipts already. All of the receipts are from reputable established providers and did not require receipts under my previous FSA company. It is lousy service that bounce passes work to the consumer thereby turning a benefit into a pain in the butt.

Vision and Dental Benefits cancellation

After retiring from my job, these people stole 819.00 from me. I bought dental and vision insurance from the for 18 months, gave them the money, but when I call regarding my policy (I needed glasses) I was tole the policy had been cancelled for nonpayment. I sent them a copy of the receipt where I had paid, but they came back and told me that I had asked for medical benefits which was 999.00. I told them that I would never sign for medical benefits because I had Medicare, so why would I pay for their medical. They replied that I had applied for medical a few days after I had applied for vision and dental, but I never went back on the website and if I had applied for medical benefits, why did they not have a payment for 999.00. This company are scammers and should not have insurance license.

Power-hungry pickiness in FSA documentation

I wish they were accountable to someone. They are awful. They take money out of my check for FSA and then even with a valid receipt and documentation, they keep denying my valid medical expenses. Then, they send me IRS tax jargon. The funny thing is that I am an IRS Enrolled Agent and am far more well versed in the tax law than these low IQ paper pushers (plus as a tax professional, if I fail to abide by tax laws, I can lose my license). I think the real problem with Discovery Benefits is that people that normally are low on the totem pole in terms of intellect and socioeconomic status are basically given an enormous amount of power and therefore, they abuse their power. I mean, if they can deny the claim and get away with no accountability, regardless of whether the EOB shows that my out of pocket is exactly what the itemized receipt shows which is exactly what the debit card expense was (all of this for $42!), they basically have the power to steal my money with no recourse! Due to privacy concerns, I cannot attach receipts here on a public site. Should the company actually want to resolve the issue, they can respond but I doubt it. I have already filed a complaint with the State Attorney General.

Same thing as others, super picky over every single expense, horrible service. They want backup after backup even for expenses paid directly to the hospital or medical center, then they freeze your account with YOUR money.

Its like they are running a scam to steal your money, saying its all about IRS baloney.

I have had FSA accounts before, and these people are by far, and I mean by far the absolute worst to deal with I have encountered. They do their best to make using the account such a painful experience, you just want give up on it.

I called Discovery Benefit FSA the first time and waited for almost 4.5 hours without answer. I told myself that life is not only making one phone call and waiting for answer for your whole life so that I hung up the phone call to do other things that every human being need to do to survive. When they told you that they sent mail to you, it means that you will never receive it. If you would like to have better life, keep away from this company. You see that their employees review and happy with the company. It means that they took all the advantage from customers and live good life by themselves.

Wont answer calls, and had me waiting 1 hour and 18 mins. And still no answer. Didnt pay for my copays for me or my family plus their wont reimburse me. So why do i have them if they dont pay for my needs...This is a useless and crook company...

Need documentation

they took money out of my paycheck and I was supposed to use the visa for eligible medical expense. after I used it they sent me letter asking for document to verify the payment. I had one bill from a doctor clinic, one bill from a dermatology and one from lasik plus. don't these idiots know what these bills are for. it not plastic surgery. now I got letter saying that they denied my benefit because I fail to react.

POOR SIGN IN EXPERIENCE

I have been trying to sign into my account for weeks. I used to be able to get right in and view my account. Now i HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS COMPANY HAS MAYBE TAKEN FROM ME BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT LET ME IN.Very disapointed and if I do ever gain access I may just pull all my money out. Even if you request a new password or user name, it says it will email you with it but they dont. Stay away from this company.

73 minutes to speak with a Customer Service Rep???

In December '18, I was told "if I do nothing during re-enrollment" my 2018 Cobra Plan would roll-over to 2019 "as is". Seems to be not-true. VSP was eliminated in 2019 for my wife... Decided to call Discovery Benefits to determine why they omitted Vision coverage for my wife - had to wait 73 minutes before I could speak to a customer service rep. I had called as a Cobra customer before and had long wait-times. However, when I was under my employer's insurance(non-Cobra call) - service was much faster. Seems they treat their Cobra clients much different than their corporate insured clients...maybe because their economic-penalty for not delivering quick-response/good-service is eliminated once us Cobra insured individuals are no longer an employee of their corporate customer. I am extremely frustrated!
